This Tray is Bound for Glory

When the blood of Christ

made its way down my row

the tray of little cups

gave a lift to a stranger

The lightening bug held on

against the wind

and took refuge

in one of the cup holes

It might be normal

to shun a bug from communion

showing up uninvited

and not even baptized

But you never know how

the light some carry

in their own bodies

can change everything
