The Fourth Sunday of Lent
Youth and Puppet Sunday
Psalm Litany
Based on Psalm 33
Led by Drew Garrett
The Lord destroys the plans and spoils the schemes of the nations.
But what the Lord has planned will stand forever.
His thoughts never change. The Lord blesses each nation that worships only him.
He blesses his chosen ones. The Lord looks at the world from his throne
in heaven, and he watches us all.
We depend on you, Lord, to help and protect us.
You make our hearts glad, because we trust you, the only God.
Be kind and bless us! We depend on you.
The Prayer of the People
Marissa Kraus
Almighty God, bless all our friends and neighbors. Watch over everyone’s home and shield them from any harm or evil. Show us how we can serve one another and make us a ready and willing friend and a true neighbor. Help us to be loyal and true to those, who love and trust us. Make us the kind of people, who friends can depend on us at all times.
Together, we pray the prayer taught us by Jesus to his disciples, saying…
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. They will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
The Scripture
Luke 10:29-37
But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road; and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. So likewise, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan while traveling came near him; and when he saw him, he was moved with pity. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, having poured oil and wine on them. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said, ‘Take care of him; and when I come back, I will repay you whatever more you spend.’ Which of these three, do you think, was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?” He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”
This is the Word of the Lord for us today.
Thanks be to God.

Puppet Presentation
Sam(aritan) – I – Am
Broadway Youth Puppet Team
The Youth created and presented a very engaging, humorous, and poignant puppet presentation that shared the story of the Good Samaritan (Sam), who showed mercy to a person who had been beaten and robbed while traveling on the road to Jericho. The presentation did a brilliant job of sharing some of the delight found in Dr. Seuss’ story, “Sam – I – Am.”
The Benediction
Olivia Azdell
Be kind to one another. Share your love. Help others in their time of need. Be the Good Samaritan. Amen.
