Daybreak at 8 a.m.
If you’re one of those who love to start your day early, especially your Sunday early, you’ve come to the right place for the Daybreak worship. And if you’re one who loves the outdoors and just wishes that we could worship more outside, then you’ve also found the right place. During the warm months of the year, Daybreak meets at our outdoor worship center, just north of the west-side parking lot.
The people at Daybreak would tell you a story that’s about more than time and place, though. They would say that they gather together because of the easy informality, the hominess, the intergenerational sharing, times for discussion, and music that might remind you of summer camp or a retreat. Speaking of music, you’ll experience original song lyrics that fit the theme of the day almost every Sunday. After sharing communion, which is open to all, we close our time with a fellowship circle – the perfect symbol for the way we live our life and faith together.
Many of our Daybreak attenders stay on for adult classes later in the morning. But just as many retreat to the kitchen of, yes, HyVee! They gather for breakfast and fellowship in the same old spot every Sunday. And they are one of the most welcoming groups of people you’ll ever meet – full of love and faith. Come join us. And if we’re outside and there’s a bit of a nip in the air, just bring your blanket along with you. Daybreak has a flavor all its own, and once you get a taste, you’ll want to come back for more!
