CORE Worship

Broadway has been innovating alternative forms of worship in locations that are off-site from our main campus. We’ve also designed these worship experiences to have their own personalities. One of those is our CORE community. It’s non-conventional and we hope it provides new ways of being church.

We gather in a funky retro type space in the Bethany Hall, a small annex of First Christian Church downtown (located at 125 N 10th St). The Sunday evening time is helpful for those who can’t or choose not to attend on a Sunday morning.

The CORE community is smaller, intimate, interactive, expressive and open to be shaped by the ones who participate in it. We seek to engage worshipers in an open source worship experience that is multi-sensory, hands-on, and shaped by our stories. When you walk in you might see artistic expressions that mirror the theme we are exploring that evening. Often we stay in a series for several weeks to explore some aspect of faith that is important to us. We also provide pathways to explore the theme in prayer and creation centers. Our music is a simple, unplugged acoustic style, one that has a kind of coffee house feel.

One of our distinctives at CORE is our openness and acceptance of all people. We truly strive to include all people, regardless of where they are in their faith journey and where they are in life. God is big, very big, and our community umbrella is opened as wide as wide can be. If you’re taking a first run, a second run, maybe your last run at faith and church, we invite you to let this be the one. Come as you are. We do.
