Faith is personal.  Though we all make the same Confession of Faith, "I believe that Jesus is the Christ, Son of the Living God, and accept him as Lord and Savior," the manner in which we come to know Jesus and grow as his disciples is different for each Christian.  Paul had his Damascus Road experience.  Peter met Jesus at the end of a fishing expedition.  A Samaritan woman was asked by a parched traveler for a drink of water and ended up telling her entire village how she had just met the Savior of the world.  You have a story all your own.  It's still being told. Interim Lead Pastor David Shirey has a story to tell. The 7th of Broadway’s 8 Keys of Discipleship is Share Your Faith.  So, by way of introduction on Sunday, August 13, David will tell the story of how he came to faith and has grown in discipleship over the course of his lifetime. As he tells his story, you may hear echoes of your own story and invitations to consider pathways of discipleship you haven’t explored. Most importantly, David’s story may  nudge you to consider your own story and, best of all, share it with someone else to their edification and delight. Themes in my story:  the formative role of parents and guardians, the blessing of Sunday school teachers and youth sponsors, teachers who teach the Bible with verve and delight, learning to pray, the invaluable role of being part of a small group, being willing to be stretched beyond our comfort zones to follow wherever God leads us…
