The Invitation

Welcome to the experience of worship with the Broadway Spirit through the Broad Reach of the Holy Spirit.

We are a multi-generational, diverse and accessible community. Come add yourself into the relational mix of an open and affirming community where all are celebrated. Faith is best shared and shaped when all are included. Broadway’s Sunday Sabbath is a mix of deepening, lingering, and widening.

The deepening is our Discipleship/Sunday school hour that begins at 9 a.m. with an array of courses, discussions, small groups, and presentations offered weekly for all ages.

Come linger during our Holy 30 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. with coffee, donuts, and socializing in Fellowship Hall.

Our first worship experience of each Sunday is rightly called "DayBreak" and begins at 8 a.m. It is an informal, acoustic worship time. When the weather is favorable, "DayBreak"meets in our Outdoor Worship Center on the northwest side of our church campus. During the winter months and in inclement weather, worship occurs in "The Loft"

The gathering Together worship begins at 10:30 a.m. with a musical call for entering and centering. Our worship is a sacred widening of our hearts, minds, and reach to God and one another. In worship, instrumental and vocal offerings are interwoven from our church musicians, individuals and groups; including The Chancel Bells, Youth Ensemble, and Children’s Choir. Relevancy is found in both ancient and modern forms. Broadway’s worship includes both traditional and current influences of the arts and teachings.

The center of our worship is always communion. All are invited to join us as we gather around the open table of Jesus Christ in an unbroken circle of faith throughout the ages.

During worship, nursery care is available for children from infancy through four years of age. At the conclusion of worship our sending opportunities take us beyond our doors and into our communities.

Qualitative Review Team Report

By Lynelle Phillips, Chair of the Qualitative Review Team

Does the sanctuary seem crowded on Sunday Morning? Yes! We have noticed, too. The good news is that under Pastor David's leadership, the BCC Board, Elders, Worship Team, and the Qualitative Review Team (QRT) have begun discussing adding additional services to Sunday morning. We will provide World Café opportunities for BCC members and worship attendees to provide input in the coming weeks and months. We plan to build on lessons learned from the music and heart that have always shaped our worshipping community, our current unified service, and the results of the church-wide survey from last fall.

The QRT reviewed all narrative survey responses and identified seven themes to incorporate into future decisions. These themes were under the general headings of togetherness, change, worship style, timing and schedule, music, growth, and longings. Thank you to all who filled out the survey! These themes and narratives have been woven into all discussions regarding future options for worship.

We know worship is vital to our church, and we cherish many different types of worship styles. A proposal for moving forward will be shared at the next BCC Board meeting on February 27th at 7 pm in the Fellowship Hall. As always, these meetings are open, and all are welcome to attend.

You may view the QRT’s PowerPoint presentation to the Board here.
