Interim Lead Pastor
My name is David A. Shirey and I serve as the Interim Lead Pastor here. I have years of experience as a pastor and have served as Senior Minister of historic Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Lexington, KY, from 2014 until my retirement from forty years of congregational ministry in August, 2023. I enjoy serving the community and writing. I have written a book titled, It Don’t Get Any Better Than This: Stories from a Small-Town Church that chronicles my first pastorate in Carthage, TN.
I have been married for 37 years to Jennie Taylor Shirey, a musician, Christian Educator, and elementary school teacher (retired). We have three children: Will (Kassie), Betsy (Travis), and Laura (Ryan) and three grandchildren, Hayden, Blair, and Emerson.
