While We Wait...

“While We Wait, Peace Waits For Us”

John 1:1-5

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being 4 in him was life,[a] and the life was the light of all people. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overtake it.

Today we celebrate the second Sunday of Advent with the voices of children. Throughout this season we embrace our waiting. 

Today we recognize the presence of Peace, and Peace is here waiting for us! The Gospel of John says, “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God.  In them was light and the light was the life of all people. The light shines in the darkness.” Let the light of the children’s presence inspire us to make a way in this wilderness, embracing the peaceable kingdom that we all inherit. We light this second candle in celebration of the very present Peace.
